Adv. Dimitar Markovski: Sarafov is not a parachutist - 1

On the Day of the European Lawyer, lawyers gathered in protest in front of the Court House.

"No matter how insignificant we are on the European map, we are part of the big European family. So colleagues can be congratulated today with reason. Regarding the protest - I admire it, because lawyers have always had active civil positions that are related to the protection and rights of Bulgarian citizens. I understand the feeling of imbalance that has been created in them", said lawyer Dimitar Markovski in the studio of "The Day ON AIR".
According to him, he and Borislav Sarafov were professional opponents at the time when Sarafov was a district prosecutor.
"What is disturbing in this case is the fact that they advocated as a position that it is not this election of the chief prosecutor that is problematic in view of the expired mandate of the SJC. There are good arguments in either direction, but after all, this choice had to be made at a time when there is already a new SJC. Sarafov is not a parachutist who appeared just like that. His seniority and experience are much greater than those of the previous chief prosecutor", added Adv. Markovski on Bulgaria ON AIR.

He recalled that the concept of the prosecutor's office was filed.

"I understand that there is a lot of criticism about her from colleagues who are from the prosecution system itself. But this is a question that must be very carefully discussed within the SJC. We can talk about an independent prosecutor's office when we see the future new composition of the SJC - then we can make a prediction as to whether this request is actually feasible," the guest emphasized.
According to him, many dark processes that have been going on for years have been illuminated.

"They put a lot of pressure on people and created a reasonable logical assumption about the existence of such addictions. You saw what severe damage the case with Martin Bojanov - the Notary did. He inflicted irreparably heavy blows on the overall authority of the prosecution. These corpse cases are taken out at very convenient moments that coincide with certain political events in political life," added lawyer Dimitar Markovski.
