On Thursday, all flights were temporarily suspended at the international airports in Montreal and Ottawa due to a bomb threat, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States and Canada (FAA), quoted by Reuters, reports News.bg.
The threat prompted an immediate response and interruption of takeoffs at both airports. The FAA specified that the measure was taken for security reasons, without giving further details about the nature, origin or purpose of the threat.
According to a Reuters report, FAA documents do not contain information about the disposal of a suspicious object or other subsequent incidents, which suggests that the measures were preventive.
There are currently no reports of detainees or specific suspects. It is still unclear when flights will resume, nor has there been any official confirmation from Canadian security services.
