From “We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria“ today they sent a declaration for the construction of a “sanitary cordon“ about “DPS-New beginning“ and Delyan Peevski. In the studio of “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov“ the former Minister of Justice Atanas Slavov, who was elected as a deputy in the 51st National Assembly, stated that there are grounds for a partial annulment of the elections. “According to a general estimate, the bought vote is somewhere around 10% of those who voted, this is indicated by independent organizations and researchers. Yes, there are grounds for partial vote counting. But in order to reach it, a request with concrete evidence must be legally prepared, he added.
According to him, the PP-DB coalition must work hard to restore trust in its full volume. “In this very complicated situation, there is a step forward, but this does not solve the big question for us: How can the Bulgarians, who I believe are people who want to live in a European way, authorize a political force, in our person, to make the reforms in the country?“, he said.
In his words, candidates of “Yes, Bulgaria” have achieved very strong preferential campaigns. “Mr. Bojanov, even on a national scale, has the strongest campaign in 23 MIRs in Sofia. I think these are clear signals of voters' trust in the party, for which we are grateful. It is important to take into account these differences in positioning within the coalition as well and to have a much more equal decision-making model," Slavov announced.
Atanas Slavov clarified that the declaration sent by PP-DB is a political document that is binding for the formations that signed it. “This means that when, for example, the chairman of a committee or the deputy chairman of the parliament from the group of the DPS-New Beginning is proposed, he will not receive parliamentary support. But we cannot ban in the legal sense of the word, he explained.
In response to the counter-declaration by “There is such a people”, which demanded the clearing of “dead souls” from the voter lists, Slavov emphasized that they are about to get acquainted with the document. “But we have always had a commitment to the honesty and transparency of the electoral process. It was not by chance that we insisted on machine and remote voting. We must look for unification”, added the former Minister of Justice.
