GERB will support a request from the Constitutional Court to cancel the elections. This is what he said in “This Morning“ on bTV the former finance minister in the government of Boyko Borisov Vladislav Goranov.
„ However, the problem is different – lest it turn out that by the time he pronounces, we are not in a situation to go to the next election. A cancellation of these results should not lead to the prolongation of the agony”, he pointed out.
„Whether the elections are fair is a matter of evidence and gut feeling. My inner feeling is that even if there are manipulations, the results of the last 7-8 elections show that the balance of power is as we see it in the 51st parliament, Goranov believes.
According to him, the infantilism that has gripped the political class in recent years prevents a reasonable dialogue.
"The problems in the state are many, and who will take responsibility is not visible on the horizon,”, Goranov believes.
He specified what he meant by political infantilism.
„On the first day after the elections, colleagues from PP-DB, instead of seeking communication with GERB and starting the conversations about these 100 deputies, with whom we can start looking for a ruling majority, started looking for dividing lines,” explained Goranov .
In his words, it is not the job of the second to speak first, and these are the rules of democracy, which are written in books that PP-DB have not read.
„The former must lead the process related to organizing a majority. The winner starts the parliament and leads the processes”, added Vladislav Goranov.
„We are saying that we want to start conversations with PP-DB about management priorities and together with them look for who the complementary partner could be. Instead, we get a document that does not quite correspond to political logic – to protect democracy with an attempt to pre-determine who is who in the Bulgarian parliament. If it is proven that someone is in the parliament in violation of the rules of the game, there are ways to establish and resolve this," commented Vladislav Goranov.
He stated that GERB will not support PP-DB's declaration of a “sanitary cordon“ around the party of Delyan Peevski “DPS-New beginning“.
„This is political infantilism. For us, who is in the Bulgarian parliament is a judgment of the Bulgarian citizens. There is neither time nor place for such a declaration," added Goranov.
When asked if GERB-SDS will talk with “DPS-New beginning“ for a government, he said “no“.
