About 600 speed cameras will be operational next year. This was said in Plovdiv by the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Atanas Ilkov, who attended a funeral prayer for all road users who died in Bulgaria. 300 of the new cameras will be on the TOL system, and 293 - mobile and stationary. They will be distributed in all areas, reported Nova TV.
Ilkov pointed out that in cities where there is a greater concentration of accidents and deaths, there will be more technical means. According to him, Plovdiv is traditionally in the rankings for serious accidents with fatalities. “Education is the most important factor in road traffic and when drivers are reasonable, I am convinced that road casualties will decrease”, commented the minister.
Until the end of October this year, 376 people died in accidents, Ilkov announced on the World Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Road Traffic Accidents.
