„There are real grounds for optimism for entry in Schengen and by land. The time has long come for Bulgaria to obtain full Schengen membership. We are constantly on the last right of entry.“
This was commented to bTV by former foreign minister Nadezhda Neinski.
According to her, Bulgaria has effective protection of its borders as an important condition for entry into Schengen and by land, but the very decision on the Schengen area will be political.
She added that the Netherlands can hardly be expected to surprise us with a veto.
„What I have as information from Brussels is that it is necessary in Romania, I think also in Bulgaria - to install some software. The important thing is to make the decision to join Schengen, and technically when exactly it will happen - these are things that are easier to resolve, Neinski said.
