Residents of the capital's “Istok” are dissatisfied with the plans to build on a landscaped area.
The ownership of the plot is undisputed, but over the years it has been recognized as a place for walks and entertainment.
„We are not against the private initiative, but the municipality should compensate the owners by providing them with another plot of land,” insist people from the neighborhood, worried that there will be a minimum distance between the future building and the already built ones.
The land is near Blvd. “Tsarigradsko shose” and represents a naturally landscaped shield against noise and exhaust fumes, the disaffected argue.
The owners of the property have expressed their desire to develop a development plan. So far this has not happened.
The district administration of “Izgrev” supports the protest. The Municipality of Sofia is adamant that there is a court procedure that is in progress, specified Nova TV.
