The choice of Assoc. Nataliya Kiselova for the Speaker of the National Assembly and the efforts to form a regular government outline an ambitious but not easy road map.
According to Rosen Zhelyazkov from GERB, the election of Assoc. Nataliya Kiselova for Speaker of the Parliament proves that without the votes of GERB-SDS it would not be possible to have a Speaker of the National Assembly at all. He emphasized that at this stage it is difficult to predict whether this majority may be governing.
"Zhelyazkov is in a hurry. This is a very serious matter. We all say that the nation needs stabilization, but we have many questions to clarify," said Prof. Alexander Tomov from "Bulgarian Social Democracy - Euroleft" in the show "The Day ON AIR".
He expressed disappointment at the delay in the budget discussions.
"I am sorry as an economics professor that we are so late. We will probably start the new year with the old budget, but I expect that a new one will be adopted by the end of January", remarked the guest of Bulgaria ON AIR.
"Why not Silvi Kirilov? He is a very high-quality person, but it is one thing to say "we choose the oldest from nowhere, and another to say "we choose a professional", such as Assoc. Kiselova", also pointed out Prof. Tomov.
He is of the opinion that any speculations about dependencies or secret agreements have been refuted by the signing of the declaration of the so-called "sanitary cordon", which also includes anti-corruption commitments.
