We saw that this election yesterday would not have been possible if it were not for the participation with the votes of GERB-SDS. This opens the doors not only to the functioning of the parliament, but also to the constitutional procedure that is conducted by the president – the consultations and the delivery of the mandate.“
This is what Raya Nazaryan said on the air of bTV after yesterday's election of the Speaker of the Parliament - Assoc. Natalia Kiselova.
GERB-SDS immediately after the elections outlined the framework of a possible governing majority. Its participants are GERB-SDS, PP-DB, BSP and ITN.
“We have not left this framework and we received the confirmation that this is the correct formula just yesterday. Because it was three of this framework that we have indicated that elected the Speaker and leadership of the Parliament, which allowed this precedent of 11 attempts to be closed, she explained.
Earlier in the show “This Saturday and Sunday“ Atanas Zafirov did not undertake to say whether a ruling majority between GERB and the "BSP-United Left" is possible, but said that no negotiations have been held for this.
„With “BSP-United Left“ we held two meetings, I participated in both. The main conversation was about the responsible statesmanship approach. As systemic parties, both they and we know that the most important thing right now is to avoid subsequent elections. To create a government that will stabilize the state”, replied Nazaryan.
In her words, from these conversations GERB-SDS left the impression that they were receiving the support of the left.
For this purpose, they should first come to an agreement with the PP-DB coalition in order to get the support of “BSP-United Left”.
She also confirmed that there is a split in PP-DB and defined “Democratic Bulgaria” as “a much more responsible party with an ideology that is clearly aware of the geopolitical situation and fully shares the GERB-SDS vision of forming a regular government so that there are no further elections”.
„They say that common solutions should be sought in this direction, while “We continue the change” have quite a different approach. The desire to go to elections is very evident with them, you saw that they did not even make an effort for their candidate – gen. Atanasov, to seek support and gather a majority, explained Nazaryan.
