The hopes that GERB can combat the problem of cigarette smuggling in the GDBOP have come to an end. Both then, when I was in the Ministry of Interior, and now, many people are interested in the schemes not being revealed, their patrons remaining in the shadows, and this is a sign of anxiety. We are in a much more difficult stage of the state's disintegration.
This was stated by the former Minister of Interior Rumyana Bachvarova to bTV, quoted by news.bg.
She believes that the governance of the state is being criminalized. The penetration of criminal practices, of organized crime - and where the state should be governed, the thumbs down and things are stopped by the parliament, Bachvarova is outraged.
According to her, the conscience of the people who make decisions and govern should speak out on the problem of road safety, by creating a national program for the prevention of victims and accidents on the roads, so that each government can continue the program.
Politicians must make a commitment not to steal, emphasized Rumyana Bachvarova.
According to her, there can be wonderful roads and still the irreparable can happen if the organization is wrong. Therefore, a program and political commitment are needed for the people who govern to implement the program, Bachvarova urged.
She explained that it has been a long time since there have been such crowded protests as those in memory of 12-year-old Siyana, who died in an accident near Telish. The protest managed to provoke a reaction from the government, but even if the energy of the weather subsides, it will not disappear. The condition of Bulgarian roads is very bad, which shows negligence, lack of standards, control mechanisms that would guarantee road safety, commented Bachvarova.
"This is not an organized protest, and it is not mothers with children. The expression of their dissatisfaction is multi-layered - because there is no justice and the general feeling of insecurity that remains", she added. The problem is so serious that it requires active political activity on how to educate drivers and what the culture on the road and of the children themselves should be, Bachvarova noted. The worst accidents are caused by trucks and machines, which are huge and those that clog the roads, she added.
