„The most left-wing budget since Zhan Videnov's time has been adopted. In April alone, loans amounting to 9 billion leva were withdrawn. We see that the state is increasingly interfering in the economy – building nuclear power plants, a gunpowder plant, introducing ceilings on markups.
These are bad signals for the business environment in Bulgaria“, the deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of „Continuing Change – Democratic Bulgaria“ told NOVA NEWS Vladislav Panev.
According to him, it is necessary to invest in infrastructure, but in a way that does not allow for corruption.
Panev does not agree with Kiril Petkov's assessment that in 100 days the state has gone back four years. He noted that since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the budget deficit has been around 3%, and currently GERB is building on it and it could reach 6%.
„A serious financial crisis is coming – possibly because of Donald Trump's behavior, because of the stagnation in the EU, or the need for more defense investments. These 3% could easily become 4.5 or 6%“, Panev warned.
He announced that an increase in social security contributions is planned – consequence of the accumulated budget deficits.
Panev emphasized that the BSP did not offer anything more than what was already announced by the former caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.
“All those in power over the years claim that their governments are without alternative“, commented the MP.
He pointed out that Europe is in crisis and Bulgaria should focus on the markets of Africa and Asia.
“If one is going to participate in government, it must be clearly stated that “Vazrazhdane” and Delyan Peevski are a red line“, Panev also said.
According to him, the PP-DB deputies in the National Assembly are handling criticism of the government well, but they do not have their own ideas to offer.
„The mechanical combination of several parties has its benefits, as long as the voters' votes are not wasted, but political identity is lost“, he added.
„I assume that the first partner for the vote of no confidence will be Dogan's formation“, concluded Vladislav Panev.
