President Rumen Radev is playing with people's fears for personal gain. This was stated by GERB MP Denitsa Sacheva to journalists on the sidelines of parliament.
She stressed that the decision to join the EU was made many years ago.
Her comment comes after an interview with the head of state on CNN was released today, in which he admitted that he may be old-fashioned, but he believes in democracy with his referendum proposal.
"We find it interesting that he is telling us his opinion about the final decision of the Constitutional Court via CNN. The president is very clearly showing that he is working for his own political project," she said.
