Radostin Vassilev: MECH parliamentary group will support Vazrazhdane's vote of no confidence on fiscal policy - 1

A new configuration of the opposition forces is emerging in the Bulgarian parliament, after MECH leader Radostin Vassilev officially announced that his parliamentary group will support the vote of no confidence against the government submitted by "Vazrazhdane" on the topic of fiscal policy.

This decision was announced to the media and caused a wave of comments in political circles. Vassilev emphasized that his goal is to unite all opposition formations in the National Assembly, but expressed serious reservations about the possibility of cooperation with "We Continue the Change" (PP) after the recent revelations of corruption in the Sofia Municipality.

According to him, such scandals cast a shadow on trust between parties and make it difficult to build a stable front against the ruling party. The leader of MECH did not fail to note the visible tension between the PP and "Democratic Bulgaria" (DB), indicating that communication between the two formations has practically been interrupted.

"Everyone runs away from a leper", said Vassilev, referring to the reluctance of the other opposition forces to associate with compromised partners. Vassilev expressed hope that "Vazrazhdane" and "Velichy" will find common ground regarding the vote of no confidence.

In case this does not happen, MECH is ready to submit its own vote, this time with an emphasis on internal security - a topic that, according to him, is of extreme importance for Bulgarian society. In his speech, Vassilev also criticized the regional mayors from the PP, stating that they cannot be representatives of MECH at the same time.

He called on them to take a clear position and come out with public statements, since in his opinion the situation does not seem "clean". Regarding the European Parliament report on the accession of North Macedonia to the European Union, Vassilev was categorical that Bulgaria has experienced "shame and humiliation".

He sharply criticized Boyko Borisov for his support for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, whose MEPs blocked changes in the report related to the definition "modern" of the Macedonian language and identity. According to Vassilev, Orban is acting contrary to Bulgarian national interests.

"The Republic of North Macedonia cannot become part of the European Union while anti-Bulgarian policies continue there," Radostin Vassilev was categorical.

With these sharp words and clear positions, MECH is positioning itself as an active player in the opposition space, and the upcoming vote of no confidence is emerging as a key test for the unity and determination of the opposition forces in Bulgaria.
