Yavor Bozhankov: Petkov's resignation is a worthy act. But it should not be the only one - 1

The MP from "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" Yavor Bozhankov defined in the studio of "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov" Kiril Petkov's resignation as a worthy act. But it should not be the only one, because there are other people who are responsible for the party being in this situation, he explained.

"In "We Continue the Change" there are enough people with moral integrity, young and capable people. There are such scandals in all parties, but the question is how they react to them", commented Bozhankov.

Corruption, wherever it is, must be fought, investigated and exposed. But the services act at the speed of light, and in other cases - there is no reaction, said Yavor Bozhankov.

Before "We continue the change" there is only one way and that is to make a change in the change. But there will be no collapse in the coalition, explained Bozhankov and added:

"This is definitely a serious blow for us. We cannot demand from others standards that we ourselves do not follow. "We continue the change should not simply give a signal, but take decisive actions, which, although it is late. The crisis is an opportunity to make some structural reforms and changes that will not allow us to reach a similar point again. If anyone hopes that this will lead to the collapse of the coalition, let's imagine what a collapse of the democratic community means."

He also gave an example of the presidential elections - a runoff between GERB and "Vazrazhdane":

"100% sure scenario. For me, a nightmare scenario. So we must make every effort to ensure that this is a healing process and that the democratic community has its representative, because I am convinced that Bulgaria needs a pro-European president after this Rumen Radev pogrom, which he caused to Bulgaria in terms of foreign policy."

According to him, the serious situation in which national and European security are found is also discussed, as well as the important steps that European countries must take to guarantee their defense.

"Russia is increasing its capabilities by 25% per year, not by 5%. So the threat to Europe is not imaginary, it is real and immediate and direct. Let it be clear that we are not spending because we have nothing else to do, but because there is a threat to our security," he emphasized.
