Vesselin Stoynev: Kiril Petkov's resignation is mandatory, but does not exhaust the problem - 1

Kiril Petkov's resignation is an attempt to cover up the real head of this operation, I do not want to speculate who it is.

This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by PR expert Diana Damyanova, one of the founders of "We continue the change", author of the party's name, specifying:

"If the entire close leadership of the PP was involved in the idea of raising party funds in a strange way, the entire leadership must resign, but if all of them did not know about the ongoing processes, then Petkov's resignation is completely disproportionate".

In her words, the structure of the PP is like an inverted pyramid and the top that holds it up is Kiril Petkov:

"And what would happen to this pyramid, which consists of people loyal to Kiril Petkov, without Kiril Petkov, I cannot guess".
Journalist Vesselin Stoynev commented that Kiril Petkov's resignation was mandatory, but it does not exhaust the problem:

"When you have not built a party structure and a narrow circle makes decisions, we have heard such dissatisfactions, you cannot be a real fighter for change and against corruption. On the contrary, you put it at stake, because they very easily shoot you".
According to Damyanova although very slowly, PP and DB are starting to learn to work together.

"PP would not have filed a vote of no confidence and prevented entry into the eurozone, these are the mantras of Boyko Borisov, who likes to wake up in the morning and say that they are preventing it. Entering the eurozone and the belief that this will make Bulgaria a more legal state - this is something that PP ideologically believes in", she pointed out.
According to Stoynev, there is no longer any way to blame the PP-DB for early elections:

"DB had said that they would talk about this vote at the earliest in September, probably with the idea that it would not happen. Now this vote has failed itself, because you cannot ask for a vote of no confidence for corruption when you yourself are under such accusations. If Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski decide to take a risk, the situation could escalate almost to the point of civil war, because then that part of the opposition that is currently marching against the euro - President Rumen Radev, "Vazrazhdane", "Velicie" - will have a much greater charge in an election campaign to do the same. And then the country is thrown under the risk of such chaos. Borisov and Peevski - their minority or majority government - must take responsibility and get us through to January and entry into the eurozone. This government gets both peace of mind, but also the obligation to clearly bear responsibility for what is happening. I see no chance of calling early elections.

The two analysts agreed that Rossen Zhelyazkov's government is not threatened in any way, because Radev's attempt to enter "into this dialogue" further unites Borisov, Peevski, BSP and ITN, who have no benefit from early elections.
Nobody is interested in the PP-DB coalition falling apart, and their electorate is largely common, the journalist believes.
