The changes to the Road Traffic Act will have a positive effect, but will not solve road injuries. This opinion was expressed by former Sports Minister Dimitar Iliev on bTV.
The new rules will affect the safest roads - the highways. People die on country roads when overtaking incorrectly and hitting a tree. The big problem is pedestrians. Every fifth person who dies is a pedestrian, Iliev explained.
"Of course, there are some good, very good spices, such as unbranded police cars. They will be able to locate in traffic those who create problems on the road and who are a minority in traffic," he added.
