A special program for the restoration and conservation of the facades of buildings of immovable cultural value is being prepared by the Plovdiv municipality. Its goal is to financially support the owners of such properties, whose goal is to preserve the cultural heritage they own and live in it.
The reality is that the majority of owners prefer to lose their property and build a new building on the plot, since it will be cheaper for them. The program aims to reduce these cases. When it is ready, it will be subject to public discussion.
The current dilemma is whether to focus funding on restoring the facades of the cultural monument buildings or on the design (editor's note: the owners should have a ready-made project that is coordinated and the municipality should support their implementation).
Once the details of the application program become clear, it will be determined what amount to put into the budget of the Plovdiv municipality.
