A 42-year-old man is in danger of life after he and his friend were brutally beaten by two strangers in the capital's "Lyulin" district. One of the attackers turns out to be only 16 years old, recalls "Nova TV".
A video of the beating appeared in a local Facebook group and quickly caused a wave of outrage. The footage shows how the victims are kicked and hit repeatedly on the head and body. At one point, one of the victims lies helpless, and the attackers step on his head.
The man is in critical condition in the intensive care unit of "Pirogov", placed on command respiration. His friend escaped with fractures and has already given testimony about what happened.
The victims are friends and acquaintances of the shopkeeper. They were talking in front at around 11:15 p.m. They were standing here, in front of the door, talking calmly and drinking coffee. The two suspects walked past, with the older one buying a beer. They set off in the direction of the 111 bus stop, but as they set off, the older one stumbled and bumped into one of the boys. They were obviously intoxicated. They returned for no reason and slapped one of the boys. The shopkeeper tried to break them up, but then the conflict escalated. This is what Boyka Georgieva, the owner of the shop, says.
„The recordings show the younger one literally jumping on his head twice. For me, this is a deliberate attempt at murder“, she commented.
“When I arrived, one of the victims was already conscious, but the other did not regain consciousness for a second. The doctors said they hoped he would survive until Pirogov. The shopkeeper told me that when buying the beer, the attackers said that “they had a fight today“ and that they wanted to kill someone. They were very angry for no clear reason“, Georgieva said.
The owner also said that the police reacted quickly, but she does not know what will happen from now on.
“It is important to have a permanent detention measure, because what I saw on the cameras is monstrous aggression“, she is categorical.
