Sofia City Court rules whether the detained employees of the "Customs" Agency to remain permanently in custody, reports Nova TV. The prosecution requested the most severe measure - detention in custody for its boss - Petya Bankova, as well as for the other two detainees.
One of the three accused in the corruption, smuggling and money laundering investigation - Marin Dimitrov, the former head of the Aquaculture and Fisheries Agency, felt unwell before his remand hearing and was transported to "Pirogov". His measure will not be considered today. Petya Bankova and Stefan Dimitrov appeared in court and the court session was moved. There is still no information about his health condition and what caused the need for emergency medical assistance. However, because of this, the session was delayed by over 1 hour.
The three were arrested on April 3 during an emergency action by the National Security Agency and the Anti-Corruption Commission, which took place in Sofia and Haskovo. The operation is under investigation for official crimes and bribery.
