Warwick Davis, the actor who starred in films such as “Willow“, “ ;Leprechaun“, “Return of the Jedi“ and “Harry Potter”, mourned the death of his wife and co-star Samantha Davis, who starred alongside him in many films.
Samantha Davis, the “loved person” of her husband, died at the age of 53 on March 24, the CBS News affiliate reported, citing the BBC.
In a statement released by Lucasfilm Ltd., Warwick Davis said his wife is his “most trusted person” and that her death “leaves a huge hole in our lives as a family”.
„I miss her hugs. She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life. He had a dark sense of humor and always laughed at my bad jokes,”, he said. “She was passionate about helping people without judging them. He had time for everyone and sincerely listened to him.“
The couple met on the set of the movie "Willow" in 1988 and married three years later. They have worked together on several projects over the years, including "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," in which she played a goblin.
"She gave me such confidence. With her by my side, I was sure I could achieve anything. It was like having a superpower,'' Warwick Davis said. “Without Sammy, there would be no Tenable Quiz show and no Willow series. There would also be no “Idiot Abroad 3”
The couple also founded the charity Little People UK in 2012 to serve as a resource for people with dwarfism.
Warwick Davies previously shared that his wife's mobility had deteriorated in recent years, although “she was determined that it would not affect her quality of life and limit what she did and was able to achieve“.
„Although the pain of losing Sammy is unbearable, I feel so lucky to have been able to be close to her and experience her magic for 35 years,” he said.
The couple's children, Annabelle and Harrison Davies, also released a statement calling their mother “the kindest, most inspiring and loving mother we could ever wish for.
„No matter the time or place, she was there to answer our silly questions, tell us what to do and listen when we needed it,” they said. "...Her love and happiness carried us through our lives and will be what carries us forward now. Everything we do, we do for her."
