In front of nearly 250 diplomats, ministers, deputies and mayors, Esse held the traditional event “Diplomacy of Wonders“. The organizers are the “Cultural Heritage“ society - the Bulgarian representative of the largest and most influential European organization for the preservation of cultural heritage Europa “Nostra“ and the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in our country.

"Tourism is a clear reflection of the interest that our peoples show in each other. In 2024 over 3 million Bulgarians have visited Turkey, and 2.3 million Turks have come to Bulgaria", said H.E. Mehmet Sait Uyanık, Ambassador of Turkey to Bulgaria.

„As an embassy, we organized over 15 cultural events in the last year alone - concerts, seminars, conferences, film screenings and theater performances. Each of these events was a step towards bringing together the wealth of our region4“, he added.

The excavations of Göbeklitepe and Karahantepe are changing the way we imagine the origins of civilization. Each new layer reveals something more about who we are and where we come from.

Within the exhibition, visitors were able to get acquainted with the Varna Gold, which glorifies our country throughout the world. It was discovered in the ruler's grave 43 of the Varna Chalcolithic necropolis, where the remains of a man of extremely high social status were laid.

Another interesting exhibition that was presented was The Dawn of Civilization. It includes the first cities and the first technologies that originated in the lands of Bulgaria and Turkey.

The event awarded the best archaeologists in the field of prehistory. Among them is the luminary of Turkish archaeology, Prof. Necmi Karul, head of the Department of Prehistory at Istanbul University. He is a researcher of the sites in the Tash Tepeler project.

Visitors were also able to see the huge model of Perperikon, which is kept in the Kardzhali municipality. The history of the Thracian Rock City, where priests predicted with fire and wine to Alexander the Great that he would conquer the world, is over 7,000 years old.

The official ceremony ended with performances by the folklore ensemble from Edirne, which specially came to Sofia to show our craftsmanship to the diplomatic corps and political elite and the unforgettable Nikolina Chakardakova.
