The author of "Game of Thrones" George R.R. Martin confirmed that the work on the TV spin-off project "Ten Thousand Ships", which was stopped some time ago, has resumed, UPI reported, quoted by BTA.

Martin announced on her blog that the Pulitzer Prize winner Ebony Booth is working on a new script for the project.

"When not writing and producing her award-winning plays on and off-Broadway, she is engaged by me and HBO to work on a new pilot for ``Ten Thousand Ships,'' a spin-off of ``Game of Thrones.'' about Queen Nymeria and Rhoynar," Martin says of Ebony Booth. "We're all very excited about this project…, though we're still trying to figure out how we're going to pay for ten thousand ships, three hundred dragons, and giant turtles.

The pilot was originally written by screenwriter Brian Helgeland, who told the website Inverse that Martin liked his work, but HBO decided not to produce it, UPI notes.

Another backstory to "Game of Thrones" - "Dragon Home" begins its second season on Sunday, notes UPI.
