The son of the wife of the Norwegian Crown Prince was detained for violating a court order not to leave the place where he lives, reported France Press, quoted by BTA.

Born in 1997, Marius Borg Hoiby is the son of Norwegian Princess Mette Marit from her first relationship. In 2001, she married Norway's Crown Prince, Prince Haakon.

Marius was arrested on August 4 following a midnight dispute at his Oslo apartment and accused of injuring a woman with whom he had an intimate relationship. At the beginning of September, the police received information that Marius had made contact with his victim on several occasions, who did not want such a thing. Based on this information, the police ordered him to stay away from his home. But he has violated this measure. Police found a knife embedded in one of the walls in the victim's room in the August 4 incident. Marius is suspected of being the author of this vandalism. In addition, the police suspect him of having committed acts punishable by law against three other persons – violence against two women and threats against a third person.

Marius denies these additional charges, but in mid-August admitted to assaulting his girlfriend, saying he was acting under the influence of alcohol and cocaine and adding that he also has mental health issues.

Marius was raised by Mette Marit and Haakon along with Princess Ingrid Alexandra, who is 20 years old, and Prince Svere Magnus, who is 18 years old, who are children of the marriage of the princess and the crown prince. Unlike his brother and sister, Marius has no public role.
