Bears invaded a densely populated area in Finland VIDEO - 1

Two bears were seen in Vehkalahti on Joensuu this morning, writes Finnish media yle.fi. The police report was received at seven o'clock in the morning.

Two police patrols were looking for them with a drone in the Joensuu harbor area.

The Yle reporter who was there saw one of the bears just before ten o'clock in the morning.

A little later, the police confirmed that one of the bears had swum to nearby Kuhasalo. Law enforcement agencies warned residents not to move unnecessarily in the area.

Judging by their behavior, the police believe that the animals are trying to avoid people, but there is a possibility that they have already caused someone's death.

According to the police, the bears are young, but already weaned from their mother after their second year.

According to local resident Sara Hirvonen, who was walking her dog, a moose was also seen in the area some time ago.

A big game rescue team has also been sent to the scene.

Police call for caution and remind that attempts to establish contact with bears are prohibited.

Vehkalahti is a densely populated area of single-family houses and apartments about two kilometersä South of the port of Joensuu.
