Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has told the BBC, quoted by BNR, that he would 'love a reconciliation' with the royal family.
In an emotional interview he said he was 'devastated' by losing legal challenge over his security in the UK.
Prince Harry said the king 'doesn't want to talk to him about security matters' but that he doesn't want to fight any more battles and 'doesn't know how much longer his father has left'. The prince was speaking to BBC News in California after losing an appeal over the level of security he and his family are entitled to while in the UK.
Buckingham Palace commented: “All of these issues have been considered repeatedly and thoroughly by the courts, with the same conclusion each time“. After the court ruling on Friday, the prince said that “I cannot imagine a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this time“.
“There are so many differences between me and some of my family. I would like to reconcile with my family. There is no point in continuing to fight, life is precious“, added the Duke of Sussex, pointing out that the dispute over his security “has always been a stumbling block“. Asked if he had asked the king to intervene in the security dispute, Prince Harry said: "I never asked him to intervene - I asked him to step back and let the experts do their job."
And when asked if he missed the UK, he said: "I love my country, I always have, despite what some people in this country have done and I think it's really quite sad that I won't be able to show my children my country." Prince Harry said he would not seek further legal action, saying Friday's ruling had "proved there was no way to win this through the courts."
