Yordan Ivanov, DSB: Borisov should not act like Scheherazade - 1
FAKTI.BG publishes opinions with a wide range of perspectives to encourage constructive debates.

Today on the air of “Darik's Week“, the deputy chairman of DSB and MP from PP–DB Yordan Ivanov emphasized that the coalition has submitted a vote of no confidence due to “failure in the field of economic policy“ – a topic that, according to him, is “the most appropriate and most justified“: “With the budget that they proposed and then withdrew, the government would have caused very serious economic damage in the medium term, which – I am glad – together with all the people in the squares we managed to stop“, said Ivanov.

He described the behavior of the ruling party as deliberate and harmful to Bulgarian citizens:
“They simply lied. This was not the only possible budget. They wanted to raise taxes, to increase social security contributions. They declared war on the middle class and got what they deserved.“

According to him, the cabinet managed “in a phenomenal way to unite against itself all economically free people in Bulgaria“. Ivanov announced that the coalition would present its arguments during the debate in parliament – the day on which the next major national protest will take place.

Commenting on the behavior of the ruling party and specifically Borisov, he made a direct analogy with the last days of communist rule:

„From today's perspective - Borisov resembles Todor Zhivkov at the last Politburo meeting - where he refuses to understand what situation he is in, denies reality and does not know what is happening.“ and continued with: „This role can no longer be played by GERB. There is no way Borisov can be in the role of Scheherazade - giving Radev a message yesterday, half being a Russophile, half being the Tsar, half being Todor Zhivkov. 1001 nights are over.“

He concluded with a categorical call:
„It is time to take a stand. It is time for this cabinet to resign. GERB must understand that the longer they are in this situation, the more they erode and the end of this cabinet is inevitable.“
