Ilian Iliev, coach of the Bulgarian national football team, spoke to the media upon his arrival on home soil after the second consecutive defeat after a comeback by the Republic of Ireland in the playoffs of the Nations League tournament, FOCUS reported.
"We played a better match than the first and I think we didn't deserve to lose it, not to mention that we should have won. We made it difficult for them. In the second half until the equalizer, we pressed them quite high. And at 1:1, we continued to look for the goal with which to enter extra time. There's a lot of time until the fall, I want to see more moments, like in the second half, in which we show self-confidence.
I have a contract and we continue to work. There is an executive committee on the 28th, if we are invited to express our opinion, if the management has something to say. It is frivolous to think that I or anyone else can kick someone else off the plane. Now I read that information about my salary is also appearing, that it has increased, and it is exactly the opposite - it has been reduced," said Iliev.
