Another unexpected side effect of electric vehicles - 1

The euphoria surrounding the quiet and "clean" electric mobility is beginning to crack under the pressure of a rather unpleasant and unexpected side effect. While manufacturers are racing to praise the lack of noise and lightning-fast acceleration, more and more passengers are discovering that the price of this pleasure is sudden nausea, dizziness and complete stomach discomfort. It turns out that modern technologies have trapped the human body in a kind of "land seasickness", which no one warns us about in advertising brochures.

The problem lies in the brutal sensory conflict that electric vehicles provoke in our country. For decades, our bodies have been programmed to associate changes in speed with the growl of the engine and slight vibrations of the chassis. These audible and tactile "cues" have prepared the brain for each press of the pedal. But now there is an eerie silence.

When acceleration occurs instantly and without sound, the vestibular apparatus panics - the eyes see dizzying movement, but the body does not receive the usual confirmations. The result? Disorientation that can literally make you sick.

The situation is further aggravated by so-called regenerative braking. Unlike the predictable deceleration of ICE cars, here the car "bites" the road in a specific, artificial way the moment the driver releases the accelerator. For passengers who are not holding the steering wheel and cannot anticipate these software whims, the journey becomes an endless series of unsynchronized jolts. Even the subtle vibrations in the cabin are at a different, unnatural frequency, which further strains our balance system and turns the cabin into a small torture chamber on wheels.

Automotive giants are now quietly admitting their blunder and are frantically looking for a way out of the situation. Engineers are experimenting with artificially generated noises and software limits on thrust, trying to artificially “deteriorate“ the performance of the electric motor to make it more bearable for human nature. It is ironic that after investing billions in complete silence, companies are now trying to bring back the noise and artificial vibrations, just so that passengers do not have to hold vomit bags.

While the industry tries to correct its mistakes, consumers have no choice but to look into the distance and forget about their phones while traveling. It is obvious that the “sterile“ The electric car environment is at odds with our biological setup, and if manufacturers don't find a balance, the future of transportation could be not only greener but also significantly more unpleasant for the stomach.
