Bundeswehr promotes military service with race car - 1

The “Green Hell” at the Nürburgring is about to get a new, thundering master, one that wears the colors not of an energy drink or an oil giant, but of the German armed forces. In an unprecedented move, the Bundeswehr officially becomes a sponsor of the Haupt Racing Team (HRT), dressing the brutal Ford Mustang GT3 Evo2 in polygonal military camouflage. It is a historic moment - the first time the state has entered the emotional world of motorsport directly to recruit for its ranks.

The muscular American with a roaring V8 engine will not just be chasing laps, but will serve as a moving billboard to recruit volunteers. Under the motto “Join "come to our service", the olive-green beast will make its debut in the legendary Adac Ravenol 24h Nürburgring endurance race as well as in the NLS preparatory series. According to Ulrich Fritz, Managing Director of HRT, the alliance between the army and motorsport is completely logical: both on the track and at the front, team spirit and cutting-edge technology are what separate the winners from the rest.

The aim of this unusual campaign is to present the Bundeswehr as a modern and attractive employer in an adrenaline-filled environment. During the big 24-hour marathon (May 14-17, 2026), fans in the stands will also be able to take a look at a special "service bus", where experts will explain career paths - from IT specialists and medics to logistics and engineers.

Brigadier General Walter Schulte emphasizes, that the partnership, arranged through SKH Sports, is a dynamic way to show that the army offers much more than combat training. In a world where technology is developing at the speed of a race car, the Bundeswehr is relying on the emotion and power of the Ford Mustang GT3 to attract the next generation of professionals.
