Last night, about a dozen drones were spotted over a military base in Belgium, local media reported. The base is located on the eastern border of the country, near Germany, and is currently being used for training shooting, BTA reports.
The Belgian Ministry of Defense confirmed that it has launched an investigation into the incident. The information was also confirmed by the German police, noting that the drones were detected by both local authorities and the neighboring country. The base covers an area of about 20 square kilometers.
Some media sources indicate that the detection of the drones occurred accidentally during tests at the base to detect flying objects. According to reports, the drones were moving in the direction from Belgium to Germany, but it is not yet clear who was behind them and what their intentions were.
