Hungary is interested in the success of the Romanian economy, said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca, where he gave an interview today to the national radio “Lajos Kossuth“, the Hungarian news agency MTI reported, quoted by BTA.
“We Hungarians want to live in peace and cooperation with our neighbors,“ the prime minister said. The relations between the two countries “are so complex that it is very difficult to imagine anything more complex“, he added.
“Given the shared historical past, when there is peace and cooperation, it is not something natural or accidental, but the result of decisions taken“, he added.
Orban noted that Romania currently has a prime minister who thinks in a similar way to the Hungarian government, “that is why we should seize the opportunity to improve cooperation“.
“Romania is seriously struggling to restore its economic and financial balance, which is a painful and significant challenge“, the Hungarian prime minister said. He noted that Romania is a key trading partner for Hungary.
“The more money Romanians have, the better for Romanian-Hungarian trade“, Orban concluded.
