The ceasefire agreement in Gaza is not in danger, said US President Donald Trump, quoted by "Reuters".
His comment was prompted by renewed Israeli strikes on the strip, which killed at least 30 Palestinians, and the strikes came after the Israeli prime minister accused "Hamas" of violating the ceasefire yesterday by returning human remains that did not belong to the 13 missing hostages. This was followed by an exchange of blows between Israel and "Hamas" in the city of Rafah, and earlier today the Israeli military confirmed the death of the soldier.
"As far as I understand, they have destroyed an Israeli soldier", Trump said, adding that Israel should have retaliated. "When that happens, they should retaliate", the president stressed.
Donald Trump was adamant that nothing would jeopardize the agreement. "You have to understand that Hamas is a very small part of peace in the Middle East and they have to behave themselves", he said.
He stressed that if "Hamas" are good, they will be happy, and if they are not good, they will be destroyed, their life will be ended".
The American president also commented that no one knew what happened to the Israeli soldier, but they say it was sniper fire. "And this was revenge for that and I think they have the right to do it", Trump analyzed.
