Iran considers US demands for negotiations "excessive", Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said today, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
Bagahai's press conference took place a day after the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey met in Islamabad, where they had initial discussions focused mainly on proposals to open the Strait of Hormuz to shipping.
"Our position is clear. We are under military aggression. Therefore, all our efforts and forces are directed towards self-defense," Baghai said.
The United States is in serious discussions with a new and more reasonable regime to end military operations in Iran, President Donald Trump said, quoted by Reuters.
