On the night of April 14-15, Russia carried out a large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukraine, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) summarizes, reports News.bg.
According to the Ukrainian military, three ballistic missiles “Iskander-M“ were launched from the Rostov region and a total of 324 drones, including about 250 of the “Shahed“ type.
Ukrainian air defenses have shot down 309 drones - about 95% of all, but some of the missiles and 13 drones hit nine targets. Debris fell in various parts of the country.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the cities of Dnipro, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih and Chernihiv, as well as the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions, were attacked.
According to Ukrainian authorities, the strikes killed five people in Dnipro, one child in Cherkasy and another person in Zaporizhia region. Dozens were injured and significant damage was caused to residential, administrative and industrial infrastructure in several regions.
The Institute for the Study of War emphasizes that Western military assistance - especially air defense systems such as the “Patriot“ - remains critical to Ukraine's defense against such attacks.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom announced that in 2026 it would deliver its largest ever shipment - at least 120,000 drones, including for reconnaissance, logistics and long-range strikes.
