A residential building in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg has been damaged by a drone attack. 50 people have been evacuated and rescue services are working at the scene, regional governor Denis Pasler said.
“A drone attack took place in Yekaterinburg a few minutes ago. A residential building has been damaged. Rescue services are working at the scene. 50 people have been evacuated. The information is being updated“, he wrote on his Telegram channel.
A “carpet“ regime is in force in the region, with airspace closed at all altitudes and air defense systems in operation.
Pasler urged residents to stay indoors. “If you are already there, you should find a permanent structure or underground shelter (passage, parking lot). You should stay in a safe place until the signal "Everything is OK" is given, he added.
The regional governor reminded residents not to pick up debris or try to move it, nor to photograph the air defense systems in action. “The responsible agencies and departments are taking all necessary measures to ensure the security of the region.
“It is important to remain calm and vigilant“, he noted.
According to data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), in the period around April 24-25, successful strikes against Russian assets in the Belgorod region were confirmed, including the destruction of a launcher and radar of the S-300V air defense system.
The General Staff of Ukraine provided an updated assessment of the damage from recent strikes against the military-industrial facility “Atlant-Aero“ in the Rostov region. Satellite images from April 24 confirmed the destruction of one and serious damage to three other production buildings at the drone manufacturing complex.
There have been reports of strikes against Russian air defense systems in the Bryansk region, specifically the Tor-M2 complex, as part of an intensified campaign by the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) to neutralize Russian air defenses.
Ukraine has carried out a series of successful drone attacks this week against key targets, including the NORSI refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Gorky pumping station, where oil tanks were damaged.
