Dozens of angry Israeli settlers stormed a Palestinian village in the Israeli-occupied West Bank late Friday. they shot and set fire to houses and cars, and as a result of the unrest, one Palestinian was killed and 25 people were injured. An Israeli human rights group reported that settlers were searching for a missing 14-year-old boy from their settlement. The Israeli army specified that the teenager is still being sought.

The Israeli human rights group "Yesh Din" said that late on Friday, settlers stormed the village of Al Mughayir looking for the Israeli boy. The group said the settlers shot and set fire to houses in the village. Videos published on the social network "X" by the human rights group, showed dark clouds of smoke rising from burning cars as gunshots rang out. A photo released by the group shows a crowd of masked settlers.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said one person was taken dead to hospital and 25 people were treated for wounds. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said eight of the wounded were hit by settler gunfire.

The deceased was identified by his family as 26-year-old Jehad Abu Alia. His father, Afif Abu Aliya, said he was shot and killed, but was unsure whether the fatal bullet was fired by an armed settler or an Israeli soldier.

The attack was condemned by the new Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Mustafa.

The Israeli army said it was searching for the 14-year-old boy and that Israeli forces opened fire when Palestinians threw stones at the soldiers. The Israeli army also said it had cleared the village of Israeli settlers.

Palestinian health officials say more than 460 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli forces since the war began in October.
