King Abdullah II of Jordan said in a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden that any new escalation by Israel will lead to an escalation of the conflict in the region, Jordanian state media reported, quoted by Reuters and BTA.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi announced that the Iranian ambassador to the country had been summoned and protested in front of him in connection with Iranian comments considered to be interference in the internal affairs of the kingdom.
In a statement to the state public television "Mamlaka" Safadi referred to comments in official Iranian media in recent days warning that Jordan would be the next target if it cooperated with Israel in a confrontation with Iran.
