Videos of Russian army killing surrendered Ukrainian soldiers, CNN reported.
Soldiers stagger out onto a path and fall to their knees with their hands behind their heads. A video taken by a Ukrainian drone shows them lying motionless on their stomachs seconds later.
Video provided to CNN, taken during fighting in late August near the eastern Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, shows the apparent execution by Russian forces of three Ukrainian surrenderers after their trench was overrun.
A representative of Ukraine described the case as part of a pattern of apparent executions, with the number increasing this year. Ukrainian military intelligence sources have provided the media with a list of 15 such cases since November 2023. Most of the data is supported by video or audio recordings from drones, which show that surrendered Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines were killed by the Russian army instead of being captured.
According to the chief prosecutor of Ukraine, since the beginning of the war, 28 similar cases have been investigated, in which a total of 62 Ukrainian servicemen were killed.
