Ukraine's air force said on the Telegram communication application that air defense systems were activated in 11 regions of Ukraine.
Reuters correspondents in Kiev say they heard a series of explosions shortly after 03:00 that night.
Since Russian forces invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Moscow has attacked Ukraine with thousands of missiles and drones.
The Ukrainian Air Force said drones "Shaheed" were launched against Ukraine from two border regions of Russia, as well as from the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula, Reuters notes.
Ukraine's parliament said in "Telegram" that debris from a downed drone that night fell near the parliament building.
