Two trains collide in Germany, four injured

Four people were injured after a shunting passenger train hit the side of a high-speed train of the German railways "InterCityExpress". This happened at the central station in the city of Worms, located south of Frankfurt, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.

In the collision that occurred yesterday, one of the 13 carriages of the high-speed train traveling from Munich to Hamburg derailed. No one was seriously injured, but the driver of the passenger train, who was the only person on board, is in shock.

There were 520 people on the "InterCityExpress". After the collision, one of the express train staff complained of circulatory problems and two passengers experienced pain in their wrists and necks, the Federal Police Inspectorate in Kaiserslautern reported.

According to the railways, the passengers were taken by bus to Frankfurt. The causes and the full extent of the damage are still being investigated.

The accident is being investigated by the German federal police and the Federal Office for Railway Transport.

Train traffic on the section of the line between Worms main station and Frankfurt airport was temporarily suspended. According to a railway spokesman, it is expected to resume today.
