Ukraine will request a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council

Kiev will request a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council for the protection of the airspace and the delivery of air defense systems and missiles, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in his evening video address, quoted by Ukrinform and BTA.

"Ukraine will request a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council, which will be dedicated to airspace protection, the supply of air defense equipment and the relevant systems and missiles," said the Ukrainian leader.

He added that his country is working hard to achieve real results at the World Summit for Peace in Ukraine.

The President thanked all the leaders and countries that this week expressed their willingness to participate in this forum, which will take place in Switzerland. Zelensky specifically expressed gratitude to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for the efforts, leadership and proper international communication he showed during his visit to Beijing, and for the signals that came from the Chinese capital.

According to Zelensky, China can help establish a just peace in Ukraine and the stability of international relations.

The Ukrainian president added that the summit in Switzerland represents a real opportunity for the UN Charter and its purpose and principles to work.
