The European Council will hold an extraordinary meeting today and tomorrow, and the agenda includes issues of support for Ukraine, relations with Turkey, the situation in the Middle East, the state of the European economy, BTA reported.
It is planned that the participants in the meeting will talk about the topics of the international agenda. The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, indicated on the eve of the meeting that the constant Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure necessitate the acceleration of the delivery of military aid and especially air defense equipment to Ukraine. He added that the EU insists on a ceasefire in Gaza and expressed the expectation that the heads of state and government of the EU countries will condemn Iran's attack on Israel. Regarding Turkey, Michel noted the need to develop mutually beneficial cooperation. He added that it is also necessary to express support for Lebanon.
Tomorrow, the participants will discuss issues from the field of economy and the need to ease the bureaucracy in the work of companies in order to be competitive. Michel pointed out that it is necessary to rethink the approach to providing state aid.
