The Iranian-backed Lebanese Shiite group "Hezbollah" stated that on Sunday it shot down an Israeli drone that was carrying out a combat mission in southern Lebanon, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The drone, which was intercepted in the area of the city of Al-Aishiya, "attacked our steadfast people," the group said in a statement. The text states that it is a multifunctional drone "Hermes" 450 manufactured by the Israeli arms company "Elbit Systems".
The Israeli army and "Hezbollah" have exchanged fire for more than six months alongside the war in Gaza, raising concerns about the risk of further escalation.
