US President Joe Biden has a one percentage point lead over Donald Trump in the attitudes of voters ahead of the US presidential election in November, according to a poll by Reuters/Ipsos, conducted on Monday and yesterday and cited by Reuters and BTA.
Forty percent of those who took part in the two-day survey indicated that they would vote for Democrat Biden if the election were held today, and 39% of those polled said they supported former President Trump. By comparison, in a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted from April 4 to 8, Biden's lead over Trump was 4 percent.
One part of the 28 percent of those who took part in the survey say they are undecided who they will vote for, the other part say they are leaning towards third party candidates (parties other than the dominant US politics Democratic and Republican parties ), and a third part say they will not vote.
According to a Reuters poll, 8% of respondents plan to support independent Robert Kennedy Jr. if he runs.
