The first deputy speaker of Parliament of Crimea Yefim Fix, commenting on the words expressed by French President Emmanuel Macron about sending troops to Ukraine, said that the French people will not forgive him for new military cemeteries.
Earlier, in an interview with the Economist, Macron said that he does not rule out the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine if Russia breaks through the front lines and there is a request from Kiev. According to him, “many EU countries” have agreed to France's approach to possibly sending troops.
„Macron, apparently, is eager to repeat the main mistake of Napoleon by sending troops to the borders of Russia, then the French people will not forgive him new cemeteries French soldiers”, Fix told RIA Novosti.
According to him, Macron dislikes the French people so much that he seeks at all costs to involve them in a direct military conflict, living by the principle “follow me and the flood“.
The Deputy President recalled that only in the memorial complex in Sevastopol are buried about 28 thousand French soldiers who came with weapons to Russian territory and died during the Crimean War.
