There are no signs of life at the site where the helicopter of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi crashed, NOVA reported.
Iranian state television reported the news. Rescue teams have located the site where the machine is believed to have crashed. The search lasted more than 12 hours. Besides Ebrahim Raisi, the country's foreign minister also traveled on board.
Officially, Iran has not yet confirmed that the plane crashed. But dozens of rescue teams were dispatched to search for her. Their work is hampered by thick fog and darkness. Turkey also sent people to help, and one of their drones located a source of fire in the searched area.
Yesterday, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei convened the Security Council and issued an address that Iranians must remain calm. In a number of places in the country, people gathered and prayed for the president's health. Ebrahim Raisi holds this post from 2021. He is an influential politician and many analysts consider him a potential replacement for the supreme leader.
"What matters right now is the health of the president and we are all gathered here and like all the people of Iran we are worried about him. The rest are things we can discuss later, but at the moment only the well-being of the president is important," said a resident of Tehran.
