German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of targeted terror against the infrastructure and civilian population of Ukraine , reported DPA and BTA.
“The fact that this terror against the infrastructure continues after the winter is indicative of the fact that the Russian president wants to destroy the country, wants to destroy people's lives here,” she said today during a visit to one of the largest power plants in Ukraine.
The agency notes that Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko informed the German minister about the condition of the power plant destroyed last month.
Galushchenko said that Russia fired a total of 11 missiles, of which only 6 were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses because they had no more anti-aircraft missiles.
In view of the lack of means to protect the airspace, the German minister turned to international partners and emphasized the need for strengthened air defense that would protect not only the big cities, but also the infrastructure of Ukraine.
Even on warm spring days, the power supply in Ukraine had to be limited, as major thermal power plants were hit in targeted attacks, Berbok added.
