Former Royal Marine Matthew Trickett dies , who was accused of spying for the Hong Kong intelligence service, has died, the British police announced, BNR reported.
37-year-old Matthew Trickett, who was out on bail, was found by a man in a park near where he lives in Maidenhead, Barkshire. Police said officers tried to treat him but he was pronounced dead at the scene in Grenfell Park. on Sunday.
A police statement said: "Investigations are continuing into the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
Trickett appeared in court, along with two other men, last week on charges of surveillance, stalking and harassment of pro-democracy activists in the UK. His profile on "LinkedIn" described him as a former commando in the Royal Marines. He was in the Marine Corps between 2007 and 2013. Trickett was an immigration officer at the Home Office and also ran a private security consultancy.
The three defendants appeared in court only to confirm their names, ages and addresses at an initial hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court. A further hearing was scheduled for Friday.
