The Prosecutor's Office of the Primorsky Krai has sent to the court for consideration on the merits a criminal case against American citizen Gordon Black, who was arrested on charges of theft and threatening to kill, TASS was informed by the press service of the supervisory agency.
„The prosecutor's office of the Pervomaisky district of Vladivostok approved an indictment against an American citizen. He is accused of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (threat to kill), paragraph "in" Part 2, Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft committed by causing significant harm to a citizen).
The criminal case has been sent to the Pervomay District Court of Vladivostok for examination on the merits”, the prosecutor's office announced.
Black is accused that in May 2024, while he was at a friend's apartment on Sakhalinskaya Street, in Vladivostok, as a result of a quarrel, he grabbed the girl by the neck, which she perceived as a real threat to her life. Then, having no money of his own, he stole 10 thousand rubles from the victim's wallet and spent the money on his own needs, including the hotel room where he was detained.
As previously reported to TASS by the administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Primorsky Krai, the arrested person admitted his guilt and cooperated with the investigation. Black is a staff sergeant in the United States Army. As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Primorsky Krai previously reported, he was sent to the Republic of Korea and, after completing his service, went to Vladivostok to visit a Russian woman with whom he had a romantic relationship.
According to the police in Primorye, a theft report was filed by the girl who met Black in the Republic of Korea, where he worked. Returning to Vladivostok, the girl continued to communicate with the young man online, but when he arrived in Primorsky Krai, a conflict broke out between the couple. After Black left, his girlfriend discovered the missing money and called law enforcement for help.
The police found the suspect of the theft in one of the hotels in the city. By this time, he had already purchased plane tickets and intended to fly home. The man is currently in the investigative detention center No. 1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Primorsky Krai.
