Sikorski hinted that Poland may consider deploying troops to Ukraine - 1

Poland's Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski hinted that Poland may consider deploying troops to Ukraine Sikorsky's statement, reported by Reuters and News.bg., adds a new dimension to the continued support NATO countries have pledged to Ukraine amid the Russian invasion.

While NATO members have committed to supplying weapons to Ukraine, the direct deployment of troops has so far not been discussed.

Sikorsky in an interview emphasized the importance of unpredictability in their strategy towards Russia. “We shouldn't rule it out. We have to leave Putin guessing about our intentions,” he said, suggesting a potential shift in Poland's stance toward more direct involvement in Ukraine.

The possibility of the presence of Western troops on Ukrainian soil was also announced by French President Emmanuel Macron during a conference in Paris. Macron suggested that Western powers could play a role in training Ukrainian soldiers.

Interestingly, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Sirsky, revealed that agreements have been made for French military instructors to join Ukrainian training centers. A move that, while not directly confirming the deployment of combat units, shows a growing international readiness to support Ukraine.

The statements by Sikorsky and Macron indicate a potential shift to more direct military aid to Ukraine, challenging the previous position of NATO countries. The ongoing discussions and preparations highlight the complexity of the conflict and the delicate balance of international relations.
